To Hawaii!

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” – Maya Angelou

I’m out. Waiting for the car to pick me up.

Finished packing and even when you’re finished you have the feeling you’re leaving out something. Can’t help it. But everything I have read says people tend to overpack anyway so I am trying to avoid that. Anything you forget you can pick up along the way.

Activated the tracking feature on the blog. Very nifty feature with my satellite transmitter.

Long day of flying ahead. Newark to Minneapolis, layover then straight to Honolulu, then another wait and then a quick flight to Hilo on the Big Island. About 12 hours in the air today. And Hawaii is 5 hours behind EST, so I’ll land in Hilo about 7PM local Hawaiian time.

Hey Brian,

Feeling the blog. Hope you pace yourself and leave a few destinations for your golden days :-)

Bon voyage,

Thanks G! It will be worthwhile. Tomorrow is not promised so I’m going to do as much as I can right now.
