Postcard Update – Roma

by brian on February 20, 2009

I dropped the postcards from Rome in the mailbox today. One set went into a mailbox outside the Vatican. The other went in at the Vatican mailbox.

Vatican City has its own Post Office. Actually two of them. So I’m not sure what stamp half of you will get when you receive your postcard. Maybe be nothing. Or maybe you’ll get the blessing of the Holy Father in your mail!

Delivering postcards and saving souls – just in a day’s work here at!
Is there anything this blog CAN’T do?

Outside the Vatican Post Office

 Postcard Update Roma

I’m headed back to the Vatican tomorrow after having a crazy time getting these postcards out today. Tell me Italia, how can you have a post office that runs out of stamps? I had to go to a stationary store to get the rest of them. Wasted half my day. But no worries, it is all done…

And you can still get a Rome postcard. Click on “GET A *REAL* POSTCARD” on the blog page, follow the instructions and join up!

I laughed when I saw the bit about Italians running out of stamps at the post office.
Only in Italy!

Vatican post I was told, is more reliable than Italian post. I hope my postcard was Vatican posted…

PS – I got the Barcelona card. Thanks! It’s beautiful

I had a feeling that would be the case but I already dropped the first batch in right outside the Vatican.

I shuffle the cards and then split them so I don’t know who goes in what mailbox. But I did see the one to myself, so at least I will get a postcard!!!

Hey Brian,

Thank you for taking time out of your travel to buy the post card, hunt down our addresses, write ‘em up, figure out the postal procedure, buy stamps and then mail em’.
That’s really very kind and awesome of you.

Thank you!
