Over the past few weeks I have been writing and producing a weekly Internet podcast called “Cheap Travel Radio“.
It is exactly what it sounds like: A talk show on the different methods, tips and tactics to travel cheaply anywhere in the world.
I’ve had some great guest in the past few months. They include:
Michael Brien from Michael Brein Guides talks about using ONLY public transportation to see the major cities of the world. He hops buses, trains, trams and other types of commuter transportation himself to give you the best way to get around without car rentals or expensive taxis.
Karen Fawcett from BonJour Paris talks about what to see and do in Paris – ‘The City of Light’ – and how to save a tremendous amount doing it. It is possible, as Karen constantly reiterates.
Cynthia Clampitt from Waltzing Australia tells about her travels around Australia and how AUS does not have to be expensive if you plan ahead of time. Oz, the land of Paul Hogan, The Crocodile Hunter and ‘roos is on many wish lists and Cynthia gives you ideas on how to get there.
Bob Diener from GetARoom.com relays how to get better prices on hotel rooms around the world.
Betty from Betty in the Sky chronicles her weirdest, funniest, strangest and memorable tales from years in the skies as a flight attendant for a major US airline.
Julia Roberts (no, not the actress) from RV There Yet gave great stories from the road when she took her kids and traveled around the US in an recreational vehicle. You can do it too, as Julia gave tips on what to look in RVs for the newbies like me (and probably you.)
Chris from Game Day Housing talked about the college football season and how super fans can travel with friends and family to see their favorite team by renting a house, condo or apartment for big games.
Steve from Trip Insurance Store sets us straight about the why of travel insurance, the different types and the what to look for when buying travel insurance.
Erik from Trip Advisor and I had a nice talk about getting cheap hotels rooms and ways to get hotel upgrades. Erik also talked about where he sees the best travel deals around the world.
Teresa Bitler of Arizona Travel and Adventure talked about what to see and do in Phoenix, Arizona and the surrounding area, of course on the cheap. She even gave suggestions on places with the best breakfast burritos.
So you can see from produced shows we’ve had a great variety of travel topics and experts, all brought in and recorded to help you plan your next trip.
If you can’t read the blog all the time and want to hear what I sound like, listen to the show and please make suggestions about who I should bring on. Who do you want to hear from in the travel industry?
